The Bitlemmas showreel: the name set as a headword over four plum books on a shelf, then the episode spines and posters, the hosts' own clips and the identity in use.
Created for Bitlemmas.

    The idea

In a dictionary, the word an entry is filed under is the headword. Lexicographers call it the lemma.

So we set the name the way a dictionary splits it, bit·lem·mas, and stood a shelf of four books beside it. Each leaning book rests on the ones before it, the way a lemma rests on results already proven.

The Bitlemmas logo: four books beside the name, in paper on plum.
The name set as a dictionary headword, split into its three syllables by raised points.
The headword, split where a dictionary splits it.
Construction of the marque: two books upright, one leaning 2.5 degrees and one leaning 12 degrees, all resting on the baseline.
Two upright, one at 2.5°, one at 12°. Nothing floats.
The marque as real books: four plum volumes on a shelf, two of them leaning.

    The system

The shelf signs the show. One spine labels one thing.

From a 16 pixel tab to a stage wall.

The stacked lockup, the books above the name, in plum and ink on paper.
The stacked Austin lockup in paper on plum.
An episode spine: the name, then EP 027.
A reading spine: the name, then LEMMA 001.
The Austin spine, in plum on paper.
The palette: plum #4A2145, paper #F1EFEA, ink #1F1A1F and plum tint #CDB8CA.
The cover art among other shows in podcast app grids, at large and small sizes.
The favicon at 16, 24, 32 and 48 pixels, and in light and dark browser tabs.
The YouTube channel: the Bitlemmas banner, avatar and episode thumbnails.

    The engine

Every episode is a book on the shelf.

Spines and posters build from the episode list.

A long shelf of plum books, one per episode, each spine titled with its episode.
The episode archive as books on a shelf, seen at an angle.
Episode posters pasted along a city wall as two people walk past.

    In the world

An enamel pin of the four books on denim.
An event badge with the Bitlemmas Austin lockup and a host name.
Stickers of the marque and the name with PODCAST, on a silver laptop.
A canvas tote with the stacked logo, carried down a sunny street.
A bookshop window at dusk with the Bitlemmas lockup on the glass.
A full room facing a stage screen with the Bitlemmas Austin lockup.

    The launch film

A launch film cut from the hosts' own episodes.

The full episode shelf, end to end.
